This is a hand-carved oak panel, depicting the famous luxury liner, the "Queen Mary", which was probably made to commemorate her launch in 1934. It also has two carved images of the 1930's "Supermarine S6 Seaplane", which was the forerunner to the infamous World War Two Fighter plane - "The Spitfire". On the lower half of the panel, are carved two Mythical Dolphins, on Classical Columns. There is the feature of a king's crown, this being King George V, carved, and highlighted in gold, at the top of the panel. There is also a carved plaque beneath the ship's image, with the words "OCEAN QUEEN", highlighted in gold, although slightly worn. This panel could possibly have been used a a decorative piece in one of the lounges or bars on board the liner.
