This is a good example of an Early 19th. Century Royal Naval Officer's Fighting Sword, complete with its original Scabbard, which is also in very good condition, without any tears, splits, or damage to the stitching. The plain blade has no visible marks, and there is a chip in the edge of the blade (see photo), which can sometimes be caused by striking bone! The total length of this sword is 29ins., and the blade alone is 23ins.
